I've been thinking more about my book - both about the content of the book and my reasons for not starting to write.

(for those who don't know, further to my post below about wanting to be a writer, I actually have an idea for a book floating around in my head, but have yet to put pen to paper. or even finger to keyboard. And despite what I said below, I don't really want to be a professional writer, because i've heard its a life full of stress and poverty. My plan centres around me writing this one book, investing in property and spending my days playing manager)

Anyway, I came up with this: I haven't begun writing because I don't feel like writing a book (or anything creative for that matter) in my house. The ever-present smell of dog and the yelling 'children' are enough to sap the creativity of anybody. Its just such an uninspiring environment. I have these great visions of retreating to a cottage in the countryside a la Swimming Pool (which i still don't get, by the way) and writing at a desk in front of an open fireplace. My parents have been talking about getting a 'farm' which is very un-Camberwell of them (they should be thinking about a beach house in Portsea or Anglesea). Although when I say 'farm' i mean 'block of land in the country'. It will not have any animals, or crops- I just hope there's a stream ... so I can sit by it in the summertime and write poetry about the dragonflies and flowers......

..... and then sell it on ebay

I wish I was working full-time, so I could make 4 posts every day. Expect another within the hour. Between 4 and 5 is always a struggle for me.

I really didn't get Swimming Pool either. What was all the waving about? Hello, I'm waving at you. And you are waving back. Look, we are both waving at each other in this extended sequence. And why did I have sex with that octogenarian gardener? I don't know. But it had something to do with you, and now I'm waving at you.

I have this idea for a story for you. Its about a guy that travels back in time and battles giant galatic dinosaurs with his dog Ian. Now heres where the plot twist is...wait for it...It turns out Ian is working for the galatic dinosaurs! Who saw that coming. Man betrayed to giant metal dinosaurs that breathe fire by his best friend! I'll let you use the idea for 10% of the royalties...
