Ugh, Australia hosting the 2000 olympics was the worst thing that ever could have happened. The broadcast of Athens has just begun and we already have some God-awful woman who has either smoked too many cigarettes or drunk too much coffee (she has yellow teeth) telling us how 'proud' (and whatever other generalisations she can fit into the segment) the people of Athens are and how shes confident the opening ceremony will be a success. The whole thing was so patronising and its the only time I've ever felt any sort of affinity with my Greekness (my red hair and freckles must have given it away!). You can just tell that Bruce and his bitch are hoping beyond hope that something, anything fucks up so that we can all gloat about it "Well, our olympics went off without hitch, LOSERS".. Its so typical of Australia, it makes me sick.....

Meanwhile, they've either made a lake in the middle of the stadium or the place is flooded... its looks unreal - at least that limits the space in which children wearing multi-coloured pyjamas can dance around. And I'm seeing it live... I knew there was a reason to stay up :P
