In light of what's happened here in the last day or so, I felt I should write a post...
First of all, Hana and I (and everyone else we know in London - including the Duck) are fine although both Hana and I were fairly close to the action. I work in Leadenhall St, which is around the corner from Aldgate (although I don't use Aldgate station- its on a different line). I got my normal train, but once we got to my stop, they weren't letting people off the train because of a 'security issue'. So the train kept going and then stopped between monument and tower hill (the station before aldgate)... for an hour. When I finally got off the train, the entire tube network had been closed. I'd never gone to work from tower hill before so I didn't know which way to go. Luckily I spotted the gherkin in the distance (which i knew was north) and just started walking towards that...

I eventually got to Fenchurch Street where there were a crowd of people and a bunch of police were standing behind tape. I didn't stick around too long - I was an hour late to work. I got up to work, where we figured out what was going on, and then basically sat down in the basement for the rest of the day (hey, I'm being paid by the hour)..
When I did leave at 4, the tubes were still shut down as well as zone 1 buses, so i decided to walk. I got to Picadilly, which is here on the map:

So, you can see its not too far from Fenchurch Street..
Luckily by the time I got there, buses were running and I got one all the way home from there.
Hana, on the other hand, didn't make it into work. She was evacuated from the tube at Paddington and tried to walk to work, but got to oxford st and gave up. Turns out, the train that blew up at Edgeware Rd was only like 2 in front of her. And had she left when she planned to (she was running late as usual) she may have been on that one...
My housemate Lorrie works directly above Aldgate, and he was in his office when the bomb went off. He heard a bang and felt vibrations from his office...
He thought someone on the floor below slammed a door.
But everyone here's ok. Thanks for the sms. Hope I didn't worry anyone by not replying, but I'm out of credit. And don't expect me home anytime soon if I win £47million in the lottery tonight...
Bismillah
